Posters for decoration, as we know them now, have hit the commercial market
in the hippie days, the Sixties. It was the perfect low cost wall decoration
for modern living. Anne and Martin opened one of the world's first poster shops
in Johannesburg.
The second wave of poster art happened in the Eighties. Thousands of publishers
produced more refined prints for the decorator market. When G.A.G. was established
in 1981 it had the biggest selection of posters and prints in the country, importing
from 30 different countries.
G.A.G. still has a large selection of unusual and nostalgic prints. Modern and
old masters, black & white photo prints, door and wall murals are in stock for
prices paid 10 years ago. If you are after the latest decorator prints you can
browse through the many catalogues with thousands of prints. Orders will be
placed everyday and your prints arrive within a day or two.
