Dylis Condell's tapestries and paintings are windows
into a complex fairyland, a fantasy world of timelessness. She was fascinated
as a child by Aboriginal rock drawings, later by Paul Klee's dream machine,
Chagall's floating figures and Jung's analytical psychology - a heavy intellectual
brew.
Still her art is happy and buzzing with life and colour - very much so a personification
of herself. Dylis' magical world wants to make us more aware of our roots, the
spirituality of the Australian land and our own emotions, fears and childhood
fantasies.
